Are you folding the American flag correctly?

Posted on Nov 12 2016 - 8:35am

For more than 200 years, the American flag has been a source of pride and reverence for citizens of the Unites States. Among those citizens, Scouts young and old are known for their deep respect for The Stars and Stripes and are even called to be reverent in the Scout Law. A symbol of strength and unity, the American flag is one of the most treasured and powerful representations of Americanism, so it’s important to treat the flag with the utmost regard.

Advanced Fund Raising Incentives

Posted on Oct 29 2016 - 9:47pm

Scouts (and parents) - do you want to put some extra cash into your Scout account for camping, supplies, and merit badges? Starting this Fall fund raising season (i.e. now) , if you earn more than $500 in combined popcorn and wreath sales, you'll now earn an extra 10% of the profit from those sales in your own Scout account. That's extra money for you!

Seabase Opportunity with Troop 235

Posted on Oct 29 2016 - 9:47pm

Troop 235 currently has 6 openings for Seabase over Spring Break 2017: March 26 - April 1 (Sun-Sat). They are doing the Florida Keys Adventure which involves something different each day (sailing, fishing, snorkeling, island camping, key west, etc). Cost is about $2,000/person all-in. If you are interested, contact SM Schultz. Note that we, Troop 270, are hoping to do orur own Seabase trip in 2018.

Interested in Seabase?

Posted on Sep 23 2016 - 10:09am

The Florida National High Adventure Sea Base is a unique Scouting program that offers aquatics programs found nowhere else. Whether your interests lie in sailing, scuba diving, rustic camping on an undeveloped barrier island, fishing or a combination of all, this is the place for a Troop, Team, Crew, Sea Ship or Explorer Post.

Gear Swap

Posted on Sep 23 2016 - 10:09am

Scouts grow and sometimes their gear you just bought them doesn't!

We would like families to have the opportunity to sell, swap or donate that gear back to other scouts that can use it.   So if you have something that is small or just not right for you and it is in good working/usable condition, please visit the Gear Swap page on the Troop web site and post your items there by clicking on Add New Comment. Clearly describe the item/s. State how much you would like for it. And give a contact phone number or email so someone can find you and your widget.  When the item is sold or no longer available please state it and we will delete your post.

Also just a reminder that if you have a scout uniform-official BSA khaki shirt, green pants or class B troop T-shirts we take those donations and keep them with one person-Pam Eggert currently. Please see her if you are in need of one or have a donation, or need to swap sizes.
